The NetCDF data format has established itself as a quasi-standard in Earth system science. However, the current NetCDF metadata schemas often have limitations that hinder seamless data integration, discoverability and reusability across metadata portals. This project aims to close these gaps and harmonize the different schemas to ensure a more robust and consistent metadata framework.
